Orange Labs UK, an R & D team of France Telecom, conduct research, development, strategic market intelligence and trialling activities to support its important UK market. In the exploration of new concepts and opportunities, Orange Labs approached Release Mobile with a brief for the rapid development of a new consumer mobile product prototype on the Android platform.

The Release Mobile team were selected on our expert skills, professional approach to rapid development, ability to execute and knowledge of the music industry. Release Mobile were asked to progress with absolute discretion on the output of the prototype.

The app development integrated high level programming at the Android SDK level and expert understanding of its possibilities and limitations.

The Release Mobile team worked closely with Orange labs to develop the concept and function based on joint knowledge of the Android Platform capabilities.

The technical delivery required combination and manipulation of audio and video content, integration of visual content overlayed on video preview screens, database management, automatic pricing structures and sharing of content to social networks.

The prototype was successfully delivered in a short time-frame to allow Orange Labs to demonstrate internally to senior management, with the aim to further develop the product.
